The 2024 Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge season kicked off with a bang for Hamish Fitzsimmons Racing at Phillip Island from 12th to 14th April. The adrenaline was high as Hamish hit the track for the first round, showcasing his skill and determination in a series of gripping races.
In the first and only practice session of the weekend, Hamish wasted no time in making his mark. He set the pace, emerging as the quickest driver in a 40-minute session, setting a strong tone for the races ahead.
Race 1 saw Hamish in a fierce battle, showcasing his racing pace as he fought hard and ultimately secured a comfortable second place. His performance was highlighted by recording the fastest lap of the race, proving his speed and agility on the challenging circuit.
The excitement didn't stop there. In his second endurance race, Hamish displayed sheer determination and strategic racing. After 45 minutes of intense competition, he battled his way to the front of the field, claiming his first Michelin Sprint Challenge win in spectacular fashion.
However, racing can be unpredictable, and the final race brought its challenges. An unfortunate incident early in the race saw Hamish taken out of contention, forcing an early retirement. Despite this setback, Hamish remains optimistic and focused on the next challenge.
